I am contemplating purchasing an Omega Speedmaster Professional model number 311.30.42.30.01.005 (as in the newer version of 3570.50) with the steel bracelet. I was thinking that it would be nice to have a leather band to switch to if I wanted.
Omega wants 0USD for its leather band with deployment clasp. Other brands seem to have great quality for much less. So, two parter: Is the Omega band worth the 0 over the low to mid 100’s for others? Is the Omega clasp worth the additional 0, or so certain brands make imitations that are just as good? Thanks in advance. Long lurker first time poster. When I look at the website (mine is 311.30.42.30.01.005), I see that there is an official black leather strap 311.33.42.30.01.001. I generally prefer steel bracelets for my sports and tool watches (e.g., my Speedmaster Professional and SMPc) and leather bands, one black and one brown, for my dress watches (e.g., my two vintage Constellations). There are several threads on this in the Modern Omega section. I wear my Speedy Hesalite almost exclusively on leather straps. I find with the speedy that a strongly tapered strap from 20mm to 16mm looks best and suits the elegance of the case. Non tapered straps or bracelets overpower the watch.
My current collection is a Rolex DATEJUST 41 (oyster band w central polish , fluted , slate dial) and omega deville (white pearl dial) on leather strap. I am in market for a sportier watch and maybe some complications. Also like the blue dial on this one bc it adds a different style to my collection and can add rubber band.

This is going to sound DUMB but, can anyone tell me what the lug distance (Band/Strap width) for a 145.022-69ST is. There is lots of talk about the new 3861 bracelet, but I wasn't able to find much information about alternative leather straps that fit the deployant that comes with the leather version of the speedmaster. As I am more partial to a brown strap, I was looking around, and have not found many options that will neatly fit the deployant.
