Here's the candidate for a little TLC, a fairly beaten Rolex Explorer II bezel. You'll see that there's lots of surface scratches, some fairly deep dings, the edges have lot of nibbles and the paint is faded and worn away in places. If you ever need to do it, hop down to your nearest modelling hobby shop and buy Humbrol Matt black enamel paint and apply it into the recess and wipe off quickly with a semi dried micro fibre cleaning cloth with a bit of enamel paint thinner in it. I like the Polar 16570 a lot, except the paint (used for the bezel numbers) that tends to flake. I know a replacement bezel is not too expensive and there is also the solution of re-painting them, but I'd prefer not to. If the bezel has been polished significantly, you might find that the engravings are no longer deep enough to hold paint well. I've heard of this being used before for painting bezel numbers, good luck. I had the paint come off my Doxa bezel all the time. Clean it thoroughly with rubbing alcohol and paint black hobby paint over the numbers. When it's completely dry use a wood match stick to scrape the overpaint from around the numerals.
