The Seamaster 300M is a great watch; however, it still has a modified generic movement vs. an in house movement like the Sub. The Speedmaster line is what drove me to Omega in the first place, not the Seamaster.
My advice: buy yourself a beautiful Omega Seamaster 300m now and and enjoy it! Why deprive yourself of the watch you have “wanted for many years”? You could be wearing it right now. The original Seamaster Professional Diver 300M is, without a doubt, one of the most important models in Omega history, and arguably the single most influential contemporary Omega. The decision to overhaul it from the ground up, therefore, was not one to be taken lightly.
